Montferrand (born January 23, 1786 in Paris, died. July 10, 1858 in St. Petersburg) - a French architect, writ ing in the classical style, by a majority of his career as an art ist working in Russia. His most famous work was the Cathedral of St.. Isaac and Aleksandrowska Column in St. Petersburg. His first significant work was Lykeion in Odessa. This project was not implemented for financial reasons. Projects Maneżu Moscow (1825) and the fountains in Moscow (1823) have also not been implemented (yet finally completed under the direction of Joseph Bové and Ivan Vitali).
